Happy New Year!!! And welcome to our Technical Partner Newsletter, keeping you up-to-date on new tools and features available for you as a Booking.com Taxi Supply Partner.
What’s new?
Helping our drivers and customers find each other
Finding each other at the point of pickup has long been a challenge for our customers and drivers alike.
With this and safety in mind, we are introducing a number of new features for our API’s:
- Introducing the V2 driver assign endpoint: Giving you the ability to display the make, model and colour of the vehicle, as well as the name of the driver and his/her photo to make the job of finding each other a seamless process.
This feature is available now and details of how to start sending them can be found in our documentation here.
- Pick Up Images: As well as personalised pick up instructions, we are now enabling the ability for you to supply images in the pick up companion. For those complex airports, its another way to help our customers to find your driver.
This feature is available now and details of how to start sending them can be found in our documentation in Meeting points Page (References - Booking.com Taxi API), as you can also find in snapshot below:
- Live Driver Tracking: In case you've missed it, you can now send us your GPS coordinates every 5 seconds enabling the ability for our customers and CS agents to easily see when the driver are on their way or have arrived.
This feature is available now and details of how to start sending them can be found in our documentation here.
Not an API supplier, dont worry we are enhancing our partner portal as well.

Incident and Change Management
Within the world of software development, if you stop evolving then you get passed by. At booking.com, we are always evolving our proposition and want to be able to support our partners to do the same.
We also know that there are those occasions when the unexpected happens; whether that's in working hours or out of them. But ensuring communications are as slick as possible between Booking.com and our partners means that we can continue to offer the best possible service to our customers.
This is why, from 15th January, we are introducing a new technical change and incident management process to improve the communications between partners and booking.com but also to reduce the amount of wasted effort due to these types of changes.
Please take time to familiarise yourself with the new process here.
A gentle reminder….
With the introduction of the V2 driver assigned end point, we will now be adding our current V1 endpoint onto our deprecation plans. This will be deprecated in June and all suppliers will be required to migrate to the V2 endpoint by end of June.
We value your opinion…
As always, we value the opinion of our supplier partners. If you have any questions regarding the above features or any other integration point then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
